We often find inspiration in local history to ensure a design that fits well with its context.
Our inspiration
The site is located next to an old barn house with a characteristic roof structure and a typically barn house feel. This became an inportant inspiration to our design. At the same time our client wished for at a home with tactility and warmth an with multible interior experiences in terms of materiality and room height. We proposed our client to consider their home as a large open barn house with a multifunctional wooden furniture inside - an inhabitable wooden sculpture that contains individual bedrooms and where the gaps between the wooden sculpture and the outer shell forms the areas for the shared living facilities.
It was a close-by existing barn house that became the inspiration for this modern interpretation of a classical barn house.
In all housing projects we search for a homely feeling, no matter what scale we are working with.
